About Redfeather Snowshoes |
| About Redfeather Snowshoes Redfeather, a company that crafts snowshoes in Lacrosse, Wisconsin introduced the first lightweight aluminum V-tail design snowshoe in 1988. This revolutionized the sport of snowshoeing and increased the popularity of snowshoeing racing. Redfeather innovation continued with the Epic Binding, the first ratchet binding system on a snowshoe and the popular ATB strapped binding system. Redfeather is also the first snowshoe company to offer interchangeable bindings and crampons on all models. They introduced the Live Action Hinge, which springs back after each step, allowing people to walk with a natural step. As snowshoeing became more family-orientated, they introduced the popular Snowpaw, the first kid's snowshoe that leaves animal tracks in the snow.
Redfeather continues to work on "easy on, easy off" bindings such as the Pilot bindings found on Guide XC and La Crosse models. The La Crosse Snowshoe was recently rated “most versatile” by Backpacker’s Magazine. The crossover straps and ratchet buckles make for a glove friendly, quick easy-on, easy-off system. Redfeather Snowshoes strives to make the lightest shoes, allowing you to travel longer and farther while placing less strain and stress on your body. Redfeather continues to fine tune their snowshoes, looking for ways to keep them the most reliable and make them the easiest to use. They make a Snowshoe for every age, size and ability, giving anyone the opportunity to rediscover their favorite trail.
