Crescent Moon Silver 17 Expedition Snowshoes

The Silver series of shoes was introduced to provide all the advantages of the teardrop shaped frame unique to Crescent Moon begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlighting with components that make it lower in price than the Gold series of shoes. The Silver Series is constructed with the same molded stirrup as the Gold series binding including the the Single pull loop strap adjustments, but instead of using ratcheting buckles as we do in the Gold series, the Silver series is made with tension lock buckles and a spring cam buckle heel strap. We also build the Silver series of shoes with aluminum crampons, instead of stainless steel and the frames in the Silver series are all polished aluminum instead of the brilliantly colored frames found on the Gold series. Many of the features and benefits are shared between the Gold and Silver series, but the Silver series are “value” priced because of the different components used and a lifetime warranty on the Golds vs. a 2 year limited warranty on the Silvers.

Like its Gold cousin, the Silver 17 is one big-daddy snowshoe. It is recommended for snowshoers and their gear (that's a big picnic) up to 300lbs. But the shoes themselves are very lightweight and even if you're carrying a load you'll appreciate the simple cam-locking buckle binding system and lightweight maneuverability of the Silver 17. Although the Silver 17s are one of the largest snowshoes on the market they're by far lighter and easier to navigate than traditionally shaped shoes and feature a binding system that won't freeze or come loose even in the wettest conditions.
