Deuter Aircontact 60+10 SL Backpack for Women (FREE GIFT)
Product Description
Updated for 2012! The Deuter Aircontact 60+10 SL Women's Internal Frame Backpack has an array of features and a trail-tested German-engineered suspension system. This Deuter Backpack is specifically engineered for a woman's frame but works perfect for a smaller-framed man or youth. This Aircontact backpack is built for back country adventure. The Deuter Aircontact 60+10 Backpack has a standard capacity of 3660 cubic inches, increasing to 4260 cubic inches with the use of an extendible spindrift collar. This equips the Aircontact 60+10 SL Women’s pack for multi-day hiking trips.
As women's backs are not, on average, as long or broad as men's backs, the Deuter Backpack SL carry system is slightly shorter than that of Deuter's standard backpacks. The hipbelt has been given a more conical shape to provide a proper anatomical fit. The shoulder straps of the Deuter SL backpacks have been set closer together, are narrower and shorter in length. The SL pack is equipped with smaller buckles and narrower tapered strap ends to prevent chafing under the arms and eliminate pressure points in the chest area.
An anatomically shaped X-frame works in tandem with breathable, hollow chamber foam to grant the Deuter Aircontact 60+10 SL Women’s pack load-hauling capability, padded comfort and ventilation. The X-frame offers a balance of rigidity and flexibility that effectively distributes weight. Further enhancing fit, Deuter's Vari-Quick harness system adjusts easily to accommodate torsos ranging from 13"-20" in length. Adjustability in the padded shoulder straps and pivoting Variflex hipbelt aids in both comfort and fit. In addition, a concave molding at the top of the backpanel works in conjunction with the height-adjustable lid to provide a contoured space for head movement, combating the stiff, sore neck often associated with a long day on the trail.
A zippered divider between the main compartment of the Aircontact 60+10 SL Women’s pack and its lower sleeping bag compartment allows for organization and separation of wet and dry gear. When hauling longer items or in need of access between the two compartments, you can unzip the divider and convert the Aircontact 60+10 SL Women’s pack to a single, large compartment. The main compartment has top loading access and in addition, a large, U-shaped front zipper enables you to quickly put hands on gear and or clothes without having to dump out the entire contents of the pack. Side bellows pockets offer large storage capacity and even have drinking tube pass-throughs for carrying hydration systems (sold separately). An interior pocket, a zippered lid pocket, elastic side pockets and a small zippered hipbelt pocket provide additional places to store and organize gear. A streamlined front panel pocket is well-suited for stashing maps.
Other special features of the Deuter Backpacks Aircontact 60+10 SL Women’s pack include ice axe loops, top lid attachment rings, dual front daisy chain attachment systems, an SOS instruction panel and an integrated rain cover for protecting your pack against the elements. A lined hydration sleeve in the main compartment, built-in tube exit points, and a drinking tube clip on the shoulder strap further enhance the backcountry functionality of the Aircontact 60+10 SL Women’s backpack.

About the Deuter Aircontact Back System:
Stabiliser straps allow optimal positioning of the backpack. These are easily repositioned on the shoulder straps using a “Triglide“ buckle. Aircontact models above 50+10 SL sizes also have two different fixing points, depending on the back length setting, in order to optimize the load adjustor strap angle.
Breathable padding with special ventilating hollow chamber foam: With every movement, a pump effect circulates air through the breathable Aircontact cushions of this direct body contact system. Extra air channel ventilation between the back cushions is very effective. (on ACT Lite)
The anatomically shaped hip fins are made from multiple layers. The inner side has a layer of soft foam with 3D AirMesh lining for heightened comfort. The firm foam on the outside is modelled to the anatomic shape and transfers the load to the hips. Side compression straps on the fins regulate the load and increase stability. On the compact ACT Lite fins this bilaminate construction is perfectly balanced between weight reduction and load transfer ratio. Aircontact models designed to carry heavier loads, maximise stability and load transfer thanks to the additional synthetic reinforcement in between foam layers.
Head molding provides freedom of head movement. Effective on models Aircontact 50+10SL and up.
Contoured shoulder straps with 3D Air mesh lining.
Vari-Quick system for easy adjustment to any back length.
The anatomic profiled X-frame offers a balance of torsional rigidity and flexibility to follow your body movements, and transfers weight through it's perfect back fit.
All Aircontact models are fitted with Deuter’s Vari Flex System, leaving the generous hip fins fully mobile. The Vari Flex hip fins follow even the most complex movements allowing tricky sections to be negotiated without losing your balance – especially important when carrying a hefty load.
About Deuter's SL Fit System
The SL carry system is thus slightly shorter than that of Deuter's standard rucksacks. All models in the SL series are the ideal choice for many women as well as male users with shorter backs and narrower frames.
Soft edges to the straps, smaller buckles and narrow tapered strap ends prevent the SL shoulder straps from chafing under the arms and eliminate pressure points in the chest area.
A conical waist shape is achieved by angling the belt diagonally upwards and by curving the SL waist belt wings. The frontal adjuster system feature of our larger volume rucksacks simplifies the waist belt fitting procedure.
To support narrower shoulder widths and prevent slippage, the SL shoulder straps are both narrower and shorter in length.
In order to give a perfect anatomic fit around the upper body, the SL shoulder straps are both narrower and shorter in length.
About the materials used on the Aircontact 55 +10 Backpack:
Deuter-Ballistic: High density woven polyamide 420 denier fabric with high strength and lightweight makes it especially suitable for Trans Alpine and Aircontact packs. PU coating. Shiny finish.
Deuter-Ripstop 330: This technical 330-denier Nylon material is the perfect balance between durability at minimal weight. Thicker reinforcing threads woven into it give it that Ripstop look and technical shiny surface. Top quality PU coating. Exclusively used for the Aircontact models.
Deuter-Duratex: A Polyamide-fabric that is extremely abrasion and tear resistant. For all larger backpacks this is used for the bottom panel. It has a thread of 1000 den and a thick PU coating on the inside.
