The Penguin Reflexion bivy was inspired by the Emperor penguins of Antarctica which are able to withstand brutually cold winter weather and cold due to their aerodynamic shape and built in insulation which traps their body heat. Made entirely from Sympatex Reflexion, a 3-layer fabric with a specially engineered “waterproof breathable” silver reflective inner membrane, the Penguin bivy will trap and reflect back body heat and add dramatically to the warmth of the sleep system.

Designed for winter or high altitude use, the Penguin can also be used as a rescue bivy. Stiffened shape keeps fabric away from face and allows for maximum heat retention within the bivy. There is a tunnel vent behind the head, 2 stake loops on the top corners and a waterproof zipper with 3 sliders for easy entry and exit.
